About DemogDocsDemogDocs stands for 'demographic documents'. This web tool targets United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service staffs who need targeted demographic information for their conservation work. DemogDocs packages social and economic information into 'social profiles'. Each profile helps staff to understand social characteristics of their communities such as limited resource farmers, race, gender, and economic activities. The variables appearing in profiles, such as population, crop acres, or median household income, have been selected based on feedback from NRCS staffs. The initial information comes from Census 2000, Agricultural Census 2002, Bureau of Economic Analysis, and Bureau of Labor Statistics. Data from multiple data sources can be quickly combined to produce large custom data sets such as those found at National DemogDocs Data. These databases are available upon request in SqlServer format. The DemogDocs application is also available upon request. |
